Silverstone Circuit

The UK's flagship venue and one of the fastest circuits in Europe. Exposed, windy and quick to change conditions — a shower on the Wellington Straight can leave Stowe bone dry.

Key info

Noise limit
105 dB(A) static / 98 dB(A) drive-by on most trackdays
Elevation notes
Essentially flat former airfield with gentle gradient changes. The drop into Village and the rise out of The Loop are the only meaningful elevation cues — most of the challenge is commitment, not camber.

Known tricky sections

  • Copse

Blind on entry with a wide-open exit. Very fast in a modern car; the turn-in point arrives before you can see the apex.

  • Becketts complex

Sequence of direction changes where a small early error compounds all the way to Chapel. Sacrifice Maggotts to get Chapel right.

  • Stowe

Long, deceptive right-hander that tightens. Runs damp longest after rain and is the most common off at trackdays.

  • Vale / Club

Heavy braking into a compression, then a double-apex onto the pit straight. Locking a front here is easy in the cold.
